Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how Peppula uses cookies and similar technologies on peppula.com, in line with the EU GDPR, the ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC) and Belgian law.

How consent works

On your first visit you see a banner asking which cookie categories you allow. Until you accept, we do not set any non-essential cookies and Google Consent Mode keeps analytics and advertising signals denied. You can change your mind any time using the button below or the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.

Categories

1. Strictly necessary (always on)

  • peppula_cookie_consent_v2 — remembers your cookie choice (localStorage, ~1 year).
  • peppula.lang, peppula.booking.lang — your language choice (localStorage).
  • peppula_chat_conv_id, peppula_chat_history, peppula_chat_visitor_id, peppula_chat_last_conv_at, peppula_chat_privacy_notice_dismissed — keep your Peppy chat in one thread and remember that you dismissed the chat notice (localStorage, until cleared).
  • peppula_journey_id — a random ID for your current visit that links your Coat Check to its report (sessionStorage, until you close the tab).
  • peppula_assessment_history — remembers your recent coat check results on this device (localStorage).
  • Sign-in session and peppula.auth.returnTo — only if you sign in to save a dog's wellness timeline (localStorage, until you sign out).

2. Analytics (consent required)

Loaded only if you accept. Provider: Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Ltd.), with IP anonymization enabled.

  • _ga — distinguishes unique visitors (2 years).
  • _ga_80Z20DLX9H — GA4 session state (2 years).

Also loaded only if you accept: PostHog (PostHog Inc., data hosted in the EU, Frankfurt) for product analytics and session recordings. Recordings show where you click and scroll; everything you type and every photo you upload is hidden before anything leaves your browser. Before you choose, we count a few anonymous steps (pages opened, coat check started, report viewed) without cookies, without storing anything on your device and without recordings or a visitor profile; clicking “Reject” stops this.

  • ph_<project>_posthog — random visitor and session ID (cookie + localStorage, 1 year). Deleted when you withdraw consent.

3. Marketing (consent required)

Currently we do not run advertising or retargeting. This category is reserved for future use and is off by default. Nothing is loaded unless you opt in.

Withdrawing consent

Click "Cookie settings" at any time (in the footer or above) to change or withdraw your consent. Withdrawing consent stops future processing but does not affect processing that already took place.
